Workshop on photo post-processing by Vladimir Nadtochiy, Kharkov, January 25-26, 2012
Dear friends! A two-day workshop by Vladimir Nadtochiy and his assistant-photographer Alexandra Brodskaya will take place on January 25-26, 2012.
Vladimir Nadtochiy will discuss following aspects of photo processing in Adobe Lightroom:
- importing and sorting pictures in Lightroom;
- pre-selection and deleting;
- image processing by all possible tools and preparing it for export to Photoshop;
- design solutions and individual approach to each single shot;
- creating of presets for future use;
- minimizing the time spent on processing;
- creating slideshows in Lightroom;
- exporting images for storage, sending to the customer, Internet usage etc.
Following issues will also be discussed:
- shooting and handling the source material;
- a couple of secrets to be revealed on how to choose “usable” and “unusable” for processing material;
- will be given practical advices on creating and shooting a picture that is “usable” for post-processing;
- a significant part of the workshop is going to deal with organization of photo-shoot and various equipment needed for it;
- some nuances of marketing and dealing with a customer during first meeting, photo-shoot and afterwards will be discussed;
Particular attention will be payed to work in Photoshop:
- importing a preprocessed picture from Lightroom;
- processing using all the tools in Photoshop;
- usage of three plug-ins, special features of each of them;
- getting a brand colorization;
- receiving a “contrast” or a “soft” image.
Since processing is the second phase after the shooting, a lot of attention will be payed to all the aspects and secrets of a good photo-shoot.
And since shooting is the second stage after the sale, a lot of attention will be payed to all the nuances of a good deal, client search and everything dealing with it.
Since the wedding day isn’t the only event in human life, a lot of attention will be payed to post-wedding sales, and some practical advice on how to become a family photographer for life.
The first day of Workshop:
- theoretical aspects and processing itself;
- processing in Lightroom in Photoshop.
Second day:
- processing of each participant’s own pictures;
- analysis of participants’ portfolios and their business policy;
- general questions.
You should have with you:
- a notepad;
- a memory stick with 5 photos for processing;
- a portfolio on memory stick (jpg 900 px);
- your price-list.
The workshop will last 2 days, including coffebrakes.
The number of participants is limited.
Fee — $190. Participants may sign in by making an advance payment of $50.
